A service contract is a contract by which a person – the “service provider” – undertakes to provide a specific service to a customer in exchange for a payment. The often important element in this type of contract is the independence of the parties. The aim is not to create a subordinate relationship between them, at the risk of having the contract reclassified as an employment contract, with all the constraints and consequences of social legislation.
